Position Summary

Under Central Catholic High School Athletics, the position of the Head Boys Golf Coach includes, but is not limited to, the development and coaching of student-athletes while being consistent with the mission entrusted to Central Catholic High School. Not only is the candidate committed to the development and promotion of the school's golf program, he/she is committed to the overall success of the student-athletes spiritually, academically, behaviorally, and athletically.

Responsibilities and Duties

Coach student-athletes during golf practices and competitions.

Organize and schedule practice plans.

Effectively communicate with students and parents the expectations of the program.

Communicate with students and parents all practice, match and travel schedules.

Coordinate travel to away matches and tournaments.

Promote the boys golf program via school events, 8to18, relationships with students at partner schools, etc.

Hold student athletes accountable in their school academics and performance on the field.

Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling of golf matches and tournaments.

Work with the City of Bloomington on scheduling practices, home matches and practice rounds.

Keep track of school equipment and uniforms while in season and during the offseason.

Coordinate and host the postseason awards banquet.

Run the golf program consistently with the IHSA rules and regulations.

Perform other required duties assigned by the Athletic Director.

Requirements

Have thorough knowledge of the game of golf.

Be able teach and demonstrate proper skills and techniques of the game to student-athletes.

Have a valid driver's license.

Golf coaching experience.

Ability to attend every practice and match.

Ability to effectively communicate with the Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director, and families.
