Gerald “Brock” Brockhouse has been a member of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association for the past 28 years, beginning in 1978.  Throughout those 28 years, Brock has served IADA in number of capacities, including 8 years serving as the District 4 Representative, and also serving on the Executive Board as the Division Liaison.  Brock served as the President of the Chicago Catholic League Board of Control for 9 years.Brock’s career in education began in 1964 at Meredosia High School and previous to his years in athletic administration, Brock taught and coached cross country and football at Hales Franciscan High School from 1966-1986.  From 1978-1986, he was the Athletic Administrator for Hales Franciscan High School, from 1986-1997, he was the Athletic Administrator for St. Ignatius.  From 2005-2009, Brock worked part-time at Fenwick High School in various positions assisting Mike Curtin, the athletic director.  Brock was also a certified athletic trainer from 1975-2001.  He has served the IHSA in a number of capacities, including serving 2 terms on the Athletic Administrators Advisory Committee.
Darlene Graf, retired Athletic Director at Queen of Peace High School, says this “Brock has been a role model for his colleagues, and most importantly, the athletes in his programs.  He has gone above and beyond to advance high school sports in Illinois.”

Brock’s extensive knowledge of high school athletics and his dedication to the IADA are a few of the many reasons that led Gerald “Brock” Brockhouse to this selection as a member of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association Hall of Fame.
